The Jewish Museum Berlin’s visualisation of more than four thousand incidents of anti-antisemitic violence in pre-war Germany is powerful stuff. Each dot is a detailed, documented incident, which can be grouped accorded to geography, time, target or perpetrator and each click draws you in as patterns in the attacks emerge. It doesn’t pretend to be exhaustive, but even just this sliver of the true number of incidents is chilling.
