Data visualisation doesn’t often touch more than a couple of our senses… as the name suggests, sight is by far the predominant targeted sense, but innovative data visualisers have over the years targeted hearing, touch, and even taste. But what about smell? Is that a sense too far? Amy Cesal argues on Nightingale that there’s plenty of data — even data disinformation — in scents, and that smell data saves lives.
